ResQtec Zumro

ResQtec Zumro unified sales, inventory, manufacturing and consolidation in Odoo to support aligned international processes.

ResQtec Zumro develops and supplies rescue solutions for a wide range of scenarios and was working with several disconnected systems. That setup made international collaboration, inventory visibility and consistent processes harder to manage. With Odoo, the company brought CRM, sales, purchase, inventory, manufacturing, PLM, projects, documents and consolidation together in one integrated way of working.

ResQtec Zumro implements Odoo as a central platform

Customer profile

ResQtec Zumro develops and supplies solutions for rescue and extrication scenarios. On its public website, the company presents a broad portfolio for situations where stabilizing, lifting, spreading, cutting and heavy rescue matter. That business context requires commercial, logistical and technical activities to work together smoothly. In such an environment, a shared operational backbone is essential to support both day-to-day transactions and product-related information across teams.

The company also operates internationally and needs processes that remain manageable across multiple entities. This goes beyond sales and delivery alone, because manufacturing, document handling and product change management are part of the wider operating model as well. In that setting, information becomes difficult to govern when it remains scattered across separate systems. Odoo was selected as one connected business platform to support more consistent collaboration between locations and departments.

Reason for change

Before the implementation, ResQtec Zumro was working with a combination of an outdated DOS system, Excel and several additional tools. Relationship management ran through Efficy, quotations through Quootz, consolidation through Speedbooks and bills of materials through SolidEdge. That meant data and activities were distributed across different environments, each with its own logic and maintenance. This fragmented application landscape made it harder to connect processes properly and to keep information aligned throughout the organization.

The goal was to bring core business processes together in one standard software package. The future setup also needed to support several countries while keeping entities separate and still allowing final figures to be consolidated. Visibility of stock held by other locations was another clear requirement. ResQtec Zumro also expressed a strong preference for standard Odoo functionality , choosing process changes over unnecessary customization wherever possible to keep the solution maintainable and future-ready.

Challenge

The challenge was not just replacing legacy software, but connecting several business domains in one logical process chain. A sales opportunity had to move into a quotation and sales order, after which fulfillment could continue through the warehouse, a project flow or manufacturing. At the same time, purchasing, stock movements and document handling needed to stay connected. That requires end-to-end process alignment instead of separate applications that each support only one isolated part of the work.

There were also specific needs around assembled products and technical product changes. Bills of materials, routings, manufacturing orders and work orders had to be managed properly, including serial or batch numbers where relevant. Engineering changes also needed to fit a collaborative workflow between departments. The combination of international entities, consolidation requirements and product complexity therefore called for careful process design in which standardization and day-to-day usability support each other.

Odoo solution

The chosen solution brought a range of core processes together in Odoo. CRM supports the path from lead to opportunity and quotation, after which a confirmed deal can flow into a sales order. From there, logistical handling, project follow-up and administrative processing can connect more naturally. By placing these steps in one environment, ResQtec Zumro gained better continuity across workflows and reduced the need to re-enter or reconcile information across multiple systems.

Odoo also provided a strong basis for the company’s international setup. Multiple entities can work within the same environment while consolidation remains part of the overall process. That mattered for ResQtec Zumro, as did the ability to improve stock visibility across locations. The implementation matched the preference for a standard solution, with key-user training designed to help the organization take ownership of the agreed core processes and maintain the setup with confidence over time.

Apps and processes

Within the project scope, key applications included Sales, CRM, Invoicing, Purchase, Inventory and Consolidation. Inventory processes covered purchase receipts, sales deliveries, internal transfers, dropshipping, stock counts, locations and putaway strategy. Serial and batch numbers, together with standard stock reporting, were also part of the setup. In that way, Odoo supports commercial and logistics flows from the first customer interaction through fulfillment and the related financial follow-up in one connected process structure.

On the product and execution side, Manufacturing, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Project and Documents were relevant, with planning-related functionality also described in the scope. Assembled products are supported through bills of materials, routings, manufacturing orders and work orders. Within PLM, engineering changes can be managed through ECOs, while Documents supports sharing, categorizing and archiving files and product-related documentation. This creates an environment where engineering, execution and documentation are connected rather than managed in isolation.

Result

With Odoo, ResQtec Zumro has a central foundation for bringing previously separated processes closer together. That is a concrete outcome of the implementation approach: sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, projects, documents and consolidation no longer depend entirely on disconnected tools. The result is more operational visibility and a way of working in which teams can rely on the same process logic and information structure across functions and locations.

At the same time, some benefits are best described as expected improvements that support further growth. These include stronger visibility of stock across international entities, more consistent handling of product changes and scalable support for additional users and locations. The emphasis on standard functionality helps keep the environment easier to maintain and extend. For ResQtec Zumro, this provides a basis for future international alignment in which consistency and manageability remain central.
