Odoo 10 has been launched
Exactly 1 year after the launch of Odoo 9, Odoo 10 is here. Odoo's R&D team of 150 developers has delivered an incredible product. Odoo 10. The result is a fantastic new version with many new modules and features, which will generate even more profit for users. Below is an overview of the most important innovations in Odoo 10.
Odoo Website Builder
The web editor has been completely redeveloped, resulting in much better performance and greater ease of use. With the arrival of the Odoo CMS System in versions 8 and 9, Odoo learned a great deal and was able to create this new improved editor.
This new editor also adds new features, including a revamped media manager (for faster upload of new files). Other added features include new building blocks for themes, a renewed customer portal (with real-time sales follow-up) and a completely redesigned blog module.
Odoo Expenses
This application is part of human resources management. It makes it easier for an employee to send an expense claim to his/her manager.
It is now possible to submit an expense claim by attaching an image to an email. Creating expense claims has never been so easy. Reports can now be created by individual, department, cost type, product type, etc.
Odoo E-Commerce
With this update, Odoo eCommerce has been greatly improved. Odoo has integrated Google Analytics data into Odoo, allowing you to measure visitor numbers and sales directly in Odoo. This is Odoo's vision: integration, so you can monitor and manage everything from one application.
Odoo 10 now has two standard payment options, available in both versions (Community, Enterprise). Anyone using any version of Odoo 10 can now create an online webshop. Examples of new features include multiple images per product, a magnifying glass, product price options. And online order tracking, so customers can immediately see whether the ordered product is in stock.
Odoo Studio
Odoo Studio is a completely new application within Odoo. This application enables you to customize the other applications in a simple way. In the past, you needed a developer to modify the code.
Developing your own Odoo application is with Odoo Studio now much easier. Any technically experienced employee can now make adjustments directly in Odoo. With Odoo Studio, you can easily customize reports, update translations, change screen layouts, create selection menus...and much more.
Odoo Helpdesk
In Odoo version 10, Odoo Helpdesk is the second completely new application, the first being Odoo Studio. With this application, you are able to support a customer better and handle any complaints.
A request can be submitted in many ways; via email, a live chat session, website forms and specific software that is currently used in your own environment. The follow-up process can be configured in different ways; manually, randomly, department/team-related and based on personal preference. In addition, you can add an FAQ or forum with an overview page that presents activities, actions and KPIs in a clear way.
Odoo Manufacturing (MRP)
The manufacturing module has undergone an incredible development. We dare say that Odoo MRP can compete with the major players.
The average manufacturing company uses at least 10 different applications, making the process very complex to manage and integrate properly. Odoo has decided that one application should be capable of covering all processes.
Odoo has therefore created one application for Material or bills of materials (BoM), Master Production Schedule (MPS), Work Center Tablet control, Planners, Push & Pull rules, OEE, PLM, Quality Management and Maintenance Planning. Odoo MRP makes this possible.
Odoo Performance
During the development of Odoo 10, close attention was also paid to Odoo's speed.
